Aistear

We started Aistear this month! Aistear recognises the importance of play in supporting children’s early learning and development. Play is special for children. It is their “work” and their way of learning about the world. Through play, children try out new skills, explore their imagination and creativity, develop language skills and develop relationships with other people. Our topic is Hallowe'en and is based around the story Room On The Broom.

In the witches' cavern we made up spells, wrote them on our whiteboards, added the ingredients to our cauldron and stirred up some trouble!
In the construction area our builders made houses for the poor teachers who had been turned into little teddy bears and wild animals by a wicked witch!
We were very busy making broomsticks and cats out of playdoh for the witches!

In the creative area we made witches and their wands

There were lots of spiders in the sand area so we counted and sorted them.We also made some yummy cakes with spiders hiding inside them!

We love writing spells and making potions!

Be very nice to us or we may turn you into a frog!
